Understanding the “moan” in “homeowner”

House looks like it has bizarre rounded shapes cut in and protruding out, but it’s really just paint!

Two beams spanning a gap over a hole, easily 10 ft between concrete driveway and garage door.
Creative, or just stupid?
It’s hard to keep a vehicle lined up correctly to go across ramps – just search youtube for fails on that one! I’d hate to have to negotiate this, day or night, drunk or sober.
I’ll walk, thanks. Just drop me off here.

Printed, fake GFCI images taped over regular non-GFCI outdoor outlet.
Talk about questionable contractors!

Image: washer cut into the wall, probably so it doesn’t block the passage way as much. Half the image shows the back protruding out one side of the wall into the bathroom, the other shows the front also protruding out into what appears to be a tiled/carpeted area.
It looks like they used canned spray foam to close the gaps around the washer.
And how come it’s so hard to walk?

Kids, ducks, dogs, cats, turtles.
They’ve been walking in wet concrete or clay tiles since Babylonian times at least.

To be honest, I’ve seen worse: multiple 300-pair cables shorn off when a truck went off the road and destroyed a Telco pedestal.
Still, I’m sure the people whose phone and internet lines were severed were not particularly pleased.
This is why things like “One Call” call-before-you-dig was invented. Know what’s down there before you start digging!

Overloaded, poorly attached cabinets can easily come crashing down.
Sometimes it’s because the cabinets are cheap, flimsy crap.
Either way, everything ends up on the floor and likely broken.

Apparently discovered while re-shingling the roof: someone had installed a mushroom cap vent, but didn’t bother to cut a hole to the attic. So no airflow out of the attic was happening.
At least, not through this non-vented vent!

HVAC register attached to the wall, but there’s no duct – and no wall penetration. Just sheetrock.
It’s just for show.

You know, some people just aren’t that good at certain tasks. I think the person who did this really needs to find what they ARE good at and never pick up a welder again.
Or take lessons and practice a whole lot before showing your handiwork again!
